
The largest European group of comparison shopping websites, Heureka Group, has confirmed its excellent condition in its annual report.

Czech e-commerce ended 2024 with a total turnover of CZK 194 billion, an increase of 5 percent year-on-year. The overall annual score was improved by the traditionally strongest last quarter. The categories associated with sustainability and leisure enjoyed the strongest growth last year. After three mega growth years, Slovak e-commerce has dropped by 13%. Although the decline in the growth rate was already expected, the result was mainly driven by consumer concerns. E-commerce is experiencing turbulent times and its development will increasingly correspond with the overall development of the Slovak economy. The last days of December are traditionally reserved for reviewing the year that is coming to an end, analyzing the demand of online consumers and reviewing the key trends that await us in the coming year. How was the year in terms of online demand? Which seasonal trends persisted, which ones got stronger? To what extent did external factors influence customer behavior and to what extent did they shape demand? We checked the data of the Jeftinije.hr portal, part of the Heureka group, and extracted interesting and (un)expected data that characterized the Croatian e-commerce market in 2022.

The turnover of e-shops in 2022 ended up 12% below last year’s level, but the spending of Czechs on the Internet still surpassed the year 2020 by one billion CZK. The expansion of the product range has also left its mark on online shopping. The total turnover of the largest category, which is electronics, decreased slightly year-on-year, while the turnover of other categories such as hobby or home and garden, on the contrary, grew.

The new E-commerce Report 2022, for which research was carried out by Valicon, a marketing consultancy and research company, and Ceneje.si, a platform for comparative online shopping and advice to online buyers, shows a significant increase in the frequency of online shopping in Slovenia. The research was conducted as part of the regional E-commerce competition Web Retailer Award 2022 and the E-commerce Jam conference.

The new E-commerce Report 2022, for which the research was carried out by the consulting company Valicon and the consumer comparison and consulting platform Jeftinije.hr, showed an increase in the frequency and value of online purchases in Croatia.
